School Uniform

Children wear a school uniform which we believe contributes to the ethos and image of the school and sets an appropriate tone and discipline for the pupils.

Uniform lists

  • Pre-prep, including Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2
  • Years 3 to 8 - Day Girls
  • Years 3 to 8 - Day Boys
  • Years 3 to 8 Girl Boarders
  • Years 3 to 8 Boy Boarders, including Choristers

Blazers/Coats

Children from Reception to Year 8 are expected to wear a traditional navy blazer embroidered with the school badge. In the winter, a navy wax jacket can also be worn outside. As an alternative to the navy wax jacket, a navy duffle coat may be worn by the Pre-Prep children.

Hats and Caps

Navy felt hats (girls) and caps (boys) are worn to and from the school by all children from Nursery to Year 5.

Boaters should be worn by the girls during the Summer term.

In the Summer term a navy baseball cap may be worn during break time or as directed by the teachers, but not when travelling to and from school.

Book bags and Sports bags

There are three appropriate book bags with the school logo, which must be used:-

For Pre-Prep a small rectangular flat bag with a handle

For Years 3, 4, and 5 there is a small navy back pack

For Years 6, 7, and 8 there is a large navy back pack.

There are drawstring bags for swimwear (all years) and PE kit (from Reception), and a larger drawstring bag for Games kit.

A boot bag is available for football boots and trainers.  This is required for boys from Year 1. From Year 4, a large navy sports bag with the school logo should be used to bring in these smaller bags and then be hung in the changing rooms.

All bags are available from the uniform shop.

Sports Kit

As well as being labelled on the inside with standard nametapes, all sports clothing, other than footwear, must be labelled on the outside with large, red, sewn-on initials. Tops need to be named on the left chest and bottoms on the left thigh.

Footwear

Girls in Pre-Prep should wear navy shoes; no peep toes or open sandals.

Girls in Years 3-8 should wear black shoes.

Boys should wear black shoes.

In addition to a predominantly white pair of trainers for outside, each child should have a pair of indoor plimsolls or trainers for PE.

Hair

Girls with long hair should have it tied back for School. Hair bands and ribbons must be navy or red.

Name Labels

Every item of clothing, including socks, brought into school must be named with sewn-on, woven nametapes. Written, iron-on or stick-on names wash off or fade.   Please remember to name shoes, bags and other equipment. The school uniform shop has details of a nametape sewing service if required.
